Status Updates and Explaining Blaze Plans

For those who were curious, my club competitions went well! I won three individual medals and two team medals, but our team was just one rank short of making state. However, we’re still in wildcard status and there’s like a 2% chance a team will drop out and we get to take that spot. But I’m betting on the 98% chance and just moving along with my translation plans.

Anyways, for those of you that somehow manage to understand the hints I drop all over the place, I’m planning on picking one side project to speed up releases on for periods of about 2.5 months. I’m just calling them blazes, because its fits~

The plans for blaze projects are:
Release = 4 guaranteed chapters a week
other side projects will still be released as usual
There will be a quota on sponsored chapters. I’ll probably make an estimate based on doing one or two sponsored chapters a week.
——

Blaze period will be about 2.5 months because after one blaze period, I’ll be taking a two week break and starting the next blaze period the next month~ There’ll still be releases, just no blaze speed releases because Chiyomira needs some time to relax >_<”
For Phoenix though, Chiyomira has very important exams the first two weeks of May so she’ll be taking a two week break before the blaze period finishes, then finishing up the phoenix blaze before jumping straight into the Consort blaze~

——
For more detailed projections:
March 1-25 = Phoenix chp 27-42
March 26-April 29 = chp 43-62
April 30- May 13 = chp 63+64
May 14-May 27 = chp 65-72
May 28-June 24 = Consort chp 52-67

——————–
So for blaze project, my current plans are to go in the order of Phoenix, Consort, then Celestial which will take up over half the year.

Afterwards, this part is voteable on since it’s so long away. I’m thinking XQW first if it’s not already finished because it’d only take a few weeks. Then finish up Celestial since it’s pretty interesting and also the second shortest.
Then I’ll only have four series left so I can probably do 3x to 5x a week of both Consort and Phoenix until I finally finish since the chapters are also a little shorter than XQW and Celestial. What do you guys think? Ok plan? Or there’s a series you really really want to see releases on so much you wouldn’t hesitate to trample the other ones for the sake of getting that one prioritized?

  1. First, congrats on winning all those medals, both you and your team. You’re awesome! Don’t be too disappointed because of not making state; your current achievements are already great. 🙂
Re: the blaze projects… I’m really torn. I admit, I have a deep bias for XQW and Celestial (I love these 2 the most out of all your series), but I’ll try to set this aside and approach things from a different viewpoint: namely, your number of active projects, which seems daunting to me (and I’m not even the one translating! just enjoying–and loving, so much–the fruits of your labor).
Wouldn’t it help if you could finish the 2 shortest novels (namely, yep, XQW and Celestial) first and get them off your plate? This way, you’ll be left with only 4 active series, like you said, which should be infinitely more manageable and less stressful for you. Imho, it just makes sense to prioritize the shortest novels for the blazes because all the others are way, way longer, and even if you make blazes for Consort/Phoenix first, it’d be like a drop in the sea re: nearing “completion” status. I’m anxious for updates for the longer novels too (especially “Phoenix”), but it’ll be nicer when you’ll only have those projects left and can properly focus on them–without having to split your attention/time, and without delaying the grand finale of the shorter novels. And without overworking yourself!
Not to mention, there are people who only like to read short-ish novels, because they’re scared of the very long ones, lol.
Sorry that this is getting long. 😦 Another very important factor–completed novels are a HUGE draw, believe me. There are people who won’t start reading at all because they don’t know if the translator will be able to complete the novel, or because they can’t endure the cliffhangers and the wait. With completed novels, you’ll be able to draw the more reluctant readers, and not just once, but for re-reads as well (I know lots of people who’ve reread, say, “To Be A Virtuous Wife” more than 3 times. Myself included, lol.)
And last but not least–you have a built-in potential community of readers for “Celestial” among the many (many!) fans of “My Disciple Died Again.” (I’m one of them.) You just need more completed chapters to suck them in. 🙂
(Sorry if this seemed like a bunch on unsolicited opinions. I was honestly just trying to be helpful. And yes, I’m most desperate for XQW and Celestial updates. 🙂 Whatever you decide, however, I am ever grateful for your hard work. Thank you, for every single one of your projects. Good luck.)
